

The proposed
Renault-Nissan joint venture manufacturing plant at
Oragadam near
Chennai has been approved by Tamil Nadu government. The Rs 4,500 crore project coming on a 1,100 acre site will produce
400,000 vehicles annually. Earlier it was announced that Indian car maker Mahindra & Mahindra will also join this joint venture plant but M&M later quited from this venture. Renault said that it will continue its joint venture with Mahindra, which recently launched
'Logon' in India. Renault's new cars from this Chennai plant will be marketed as 'Mahindra Renault brand'.
