PUNE AIRPORT CLOSED
The Pune International airport will be closed from 12th February to 26th February for the renovation works. During this period of 15 days, no airline will operate its aircrafts to or from Pune. According to the director of Pune International airport, Deepak Shastri "A lot of wear and tear in the runway made us essential to carry out this repair and re-carpeting work." It was known that 35 daily flights of seven airlines are operated to and from the airport, carrying 5000 passengers daily to various Indian cities as well as to Singapore and Dubai. As the schedule of closure was announced two months ago, no airline booked tickets for this period. Though the airport closure leads to several inconveniences, the renovation work is necessary for the passenger's safety and convenience.
